Fall & Halloween Decorating, Spooky Decorating Tips

As Halloween rolls around, it can be a lot of fun to introduce some fresh elements to your home, and great creative with some fall-themed, sophisticated-spooky decor!

This is especially true if you have children, children that live on your street (that you'd like to delight daily!), or plan to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Design Hint from J Rohr:  Mix elements of black  (the safest are new battery-operated faux candles!) and some natural materials (fall leaves, branches, pumpkins) for a look that's holiday-themed without being too sugar-coated.

Here are some ideas to inspire from Apartment Therapy:

Skulls, Ravens, Pumpkins

Dark and Daring Year-Round

Sophisticated and "Scary"

Using Natural elements (try your local farmer's market!) brings style and elegance to your front door decor!

Indoor Decor can easily become "spooky" as well!

We've made cheap and natural wreaths out of real fall leaves!  Just cover an old wreath or pick up a wreath mold from the craft shop for $2 and use twist ties to attach leaves you pick up on a walk in your neighborhood.

We loved carving pumpkins as a family when our kids were little - get your kids to help and show off the "art"!
